Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) is a degree course which deals with diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases with the help of laboratory tests. The duration of this course is 3 years and 6 months. BSc Medical Laboratory Technology is similar to the BMLT course. These two are often interchangeably used as the curriculum for both these courses is almost similar.
Admissions to BMLT are done on the basis of Merit as well as Entrance Tests. Some colleges conduct their own entrance exams such as Manipal University, Amity University, JIPMER, etc. Some state-level entrance exams are KEAM, AP EAMCET, BCECE. There are some colleges that take direct admissions without any entrance exam by preparing a merit list based on the scores obtained by the candidates in 10+2. Colleges offering admission via merit take into account a candidate’s performance in education in 10+2. Colleges offering admission via Entrance Test take into account the scores of Entrance test. Based on scores, a merit list is prepared which will be deciding factor for admission to various colleges.
