Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a 4-year undergraduate course, including compulsory 6 months of clinical internship, and involving the science of physical movement aimed at preventing disease and disability. To be eligible to apply for the course, aspiring candidates need to have attained the 10+2 qualification from a recognized educational Board. The course is offered in the country at an average annual course fee ranging between INR 1 and 5 Lacs, varying across institutes.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy or BPT is an undergraduate programme that deals with the structure of the human body. The duration of this course is four years and once the duration of the programme is over, students are required to complete a six months internship. Physiotherapy is a kind of treatment that is carried through physical forces such as heat, electricity, mechanical pressure, and mechanical forces.
Students who have completed their 10 +2 education with science as their major subject are eligible to apply for a Bachelor of Physiotherapy course. The candidate should have pursued the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects. A minimum aggregate score of 50% or equivalent at the 10+2 level is mandatory for admission. Some universities in India conduct an entrance test for admitting students to the BPT course. Some of these entrance examinations are CET, JIPMER all India entrance test, Guru Govind Indraprastha University Physiotherapy entrance exam, etc.
